AI-generated images, audio, and videos are becoming more and more difficult to distinguish from content created by people. A lot of people online will tell you that there are some telltale signs to help you determine if something has been created by AI. These might include:
Obviously AI Not as Obvious AI
Sometimes AI-generated content will have these qualities, but sometimes they won't. Chances are, if an image or video has some of these qualities you can tell pretty easily that it was created by AI - if someone has an extra arm you probably knew already that it wasn't a picture of a real person!
If all we do is look really closely at images or videos, we might end up convincing ourselves that something was created by AI when it really wasn’t. Sometimes pictures are blurry, have distortions, or are shot from a confusing angle, which might lead us to think that they’re not real. Some people are worried that people will start saying that images or videos were created by AI just because they don’t like what they’re portraying.
Where did you find the image or video that you're looking at? If it's posted on a social media site, who owns the account? Look them up on Wikipedia, or do a Google search to learn more about them or the account.
Is this actually Keanu Reeves dancing? Search the account, Unreal Keanu Reeves to find out.
If you've come across an image, video, or piece of audio that a lot of people are sharing and talking about, chances are that a reputable source - like a news outlet or fact-checking organization - has already looked into it
Using Google (or any other search engine), describe what you’re looking at in a few words to see what other people are saying.

When trying to determine if an image has been created by AI, perform a reverse image search or reverse video search to see where else on the internet your image appears to help you learn more about it.
