Welcome to the SCC Library Spring 2021 Online Book Club for The Round House by Louise Erdrich!


Big Read postcardWe are so happy to have you join us.  The Online Book Club is open to SCC students, staff, faculty, and administrators.

The SCC Library is joining the NEA Big Read: Phoenix in celebrating Indigenous literary arts and culture in the Valley with over 25 talks, workshops, performances, book clubs, art exhibits, and other virtual events. The NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, and presented by the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing at Arizona State University.

Events for the NEA Big Read: Phoenix take place in February and March 2021.

SCC Book Club meetings will take place on Tuesday, March 2 (A casual, online meet and greet!) and Tuesday, March 30. Read on to find out more details!

How to Participate

Interested in participating? Here’s how to get started!:

-Request a library copy or download an ebook copy from The Greater Phoenix Digital Library with your public library card. The book is also available at public library locations around the Valley and Changing Hands Bookstore.  Contact Librarian Robin Amado if you need help accessing a copy or getting a public library card.

-Self-enroll in the Canvas course to get connected.

-Post your thoughts in the Canvas discussion board and respond to others.

-Sign up for official NEA Big Read: Phoenix events.

-Join us for a live online SCC Book Club meeting at the beginning and end of this program. Details are in the Canvas course!
