What is Interlibrary Loan?

  • Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service to get you the materials we don’t have: books, articles, etc. ILLiad is the software we use for the service.

  • This system is a cooperative arrangement among thousands of participating libraries: statewide, regional, national, and certain parts of the world.

  • Books and Articles that are not available from any of the Maricopa County Community College District Libraries can be requested.

  • ILL service is for Scottsdale Community College faculty, staff and currently enrolled students. Community Borrowers should contact their local public library to place interlibrary loan requests.

  • The primary purpose of interlibrary loan is to obtain specific materials needed for specific research needs.

  • This service is not designed to handle textbooks requests.

  • You need an ILLiad account.

  • You can search holdings of libraries worldwide using  OCLC WorldCat

Delivery

  • Your request may take 2-4 weeks to arrive. You will be notified when your material arrives.  Books borrowed from other libraries are typically available for 3 weeks and are not eligible for renewal.
